Join Southend Museums for a free tour of Grade I listed Prittlewell Priory, one of the Southend on Sea's oldest buildings, as part of Heritage Open days.

Led by one of our Visitor Engagement Officers, this tour will take you on a journey through the varied history of one of Southend's oldest continuously occupied buildings. From its origins as a Cluniac monastery, through dissolution, centuries of private residence to its modern day use as Southend's first public museum, there are many stories to tell about this amazing heritage site.

Please note, due to the age of the building, Prittlewell Priory has some uneven floor surfaces in places. There is lift access to part of the first floor, however the Prior's Chamber is only accessible via a short set of steps.
