An interesting historical talk taking an in-depth look at the history of The Quay and Quay Street and exploring the people who lived and worked there.

Exploring the Quay
We will be looking at the highs and lows of the development and construction of the Blyth Navigation. There were many triumphs and challenges! We include the interesting characters who were involved and some fascinating discoveries that we have made during our research.

100 Years of Working Lives in Quay Street
With the use of museum photos, Trade Directories and other historical publications, we have been able to piece together a colourful picture of Quay Street. It was a busy, bustling area of people going about their everyday working lives. We are also able to see how occupations in Quay Street have evolved over the years.

· Speakers: Wendy Gribbin, Heather Calo and Lesley Scott.
· Technical Support: Simon Parker

As members of the Halesworth U3A Local History Group, we have been researching the Quay and Quay Street for a number years. Following our successful walk last year, our continuing research has uncovered more fascinating facts, and historical images, which would like to share with you.
