Join Keith Hick at Southport & Birkdale Cricket Club on Trafalgar Road for an illustrated talk about the history of Southport's railways.

The Station Master's House is pleased to host an evening with Keith Hick at S&B Cricket Club to explore the history of Southport's railways. Railways transformed Southport from a quiet seaside town into a busy resort and holiday destination well into the 20th century. Multiple national railway lines linked Southport to major cities and towns across the country bringing thousands of visitors annually. The trains also made possible Southport's role as a commuter town. Workers and professionals could travel easily to Manchester, Preston and of course Liverpool. This illustrated talk by Keith Hick will provide a fascinating insight into the history of these railways and the part they played in the story of Southport
