Reconnect to You: Stories, Reflection and Creative Recovery
Church of Christ the Cornerstone, 300 Saxon Gate, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK9 2ES
“Reconnect to You” is a free introductory creative wellbeing session inspired by the six-week course “Telling My Story”. The experience invites visitors to explore storytelling, reflection and creativity as tools for self-expression, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Centred around the “Reconnect to You” journal, the session offers gentle guided activities using writing, drawing and reflective prompts designed to help participants reconnect with themselves through everyday memories, personal experiences and creative exploration. Visitors will be encouraged to pause, reflect and engage with their own stories in a calm and welcoming environment.
The journal was developed as part of the wider “Telling My Story” programme, a creative wellbeing course supporting individuals affected by trauma, displacement, isolation and major life changes, including refugees rebuilding their lives and sense of identity within new communities. This Heritage Open Days session serves as an accessible introduction to the ideas and approaches explored more deeply within the full course.
Rather than focusing on clinical interventions, the project highlights creativity, storytelling and everyday experiences as meaningful ways to support confidence, connection and hope. Participants will experience selected exercises from the journal, contribute to a shared reflective space, and discover how personal stories become part of our collective heritage.
