Redbourne Church in the 18th & 19th Century - Architecture & People
St Andrews Church, School Lane, Redbourne, Lincolnshire, DN21 4QN
Redbourne's Grade 1 church is well worth a visit. The church was restyled in the 18th Century with a tall slender tower replacing the medieval spire. The tower was built as an 'eye catcher' to be viewed from Redbourne Hall. The Georgian East window is spectacular and very unusual - also worth a visit in itself! There will be interpretative displays about the church in the 18th and 19th Centuries, along with information about the village's links to the Carter & Nelthorpe families and the Dukes of St Albans.
