On Friday 12 September, for one day only, experience the exciting story of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers at the Museum for FREE!
To celebrate the Heritage Open Days we are opening up our doors to allow everyone the chance to explore our galleries, exhibitions and stories. This includes our current special exhibition 'Corps Connections' and all Family Fun trails!
Our usual opening times apply, last entry 1500. Our not-for-profit cafe, Crown's Cafe, and outdoor playpark will be open as usual.

- If driving and using a SatNav system, it may be helpful to use the postcode SN15 4PZ rather than our postal postcode (SN15 4XX). Please note there are some long term road closures near us, so check before travelling to avoid delays/diversions. If travelling by bus, the 55 runs from both Swindon and Chippenham rail stations, passing through Lyneham in both directions. During the Museum’s opening hours the bus runs every 20 minutes. The bus stop closest to the Museum is MOD Lyneham Main Gate, located on the A3102, less than 350 meters from the Museum’s entrance. The Museum lies just outside the perimeter of MOD Lyneham, the home of REME Regimental Headquarters and the Defence School of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering. There is no need to bring ID to visit the Museum or Crown’s Café.
