Ripon Town Hall Open Day

As part of Heritage Open Days, Ripon Town Hall opens its door for a special look inside the Mayor's Parlour - a room not usually accessible to the public. This is a rare opportunity to explore the civic heart of the city.

Visitors will be welcomed on the ground floor and guided through the Parlour by Mr Geoffrey Johnson, Ripon's Bellman, who will share fascinating stories about the city's unique traditions and historical figures.

There will be three guided tours throughout the day, offering multiple opportunities to attend.

The event will take place on a Thursday - market day, when the city centre is especially lively. No booking is required, as we want to ensure that both digital and non-digital audiences, including those visiting the market and discovering the event on the day, have equal opportunity to take part.

The venue is fully accessible, with step-free access to the Mayor's Parlour. Accessible public toilets are available nearby, outside the building.
