This year’s presentation, will highlight some amazing tales of bravery and sacrifice for those who volunteer to help Save Lives at sea - for many are carrying on their family traditions of service with many of the Village surnames being seen repeatedly over many decades. The presentation will helpfully focus on how the village of Flamborough has been intricately involved with its lifeboat over many generations. This presentation on Everyday Histories will focus on how Flamborough Lifeboat crews’ stories are instilled into village folklore.
Due to operational constraints we cannot guarantee the Boathouse itself will be open to the public during Heritage week - we will endeavour to keep this page updated with the up-to-date information, however we do know that Flamborough Lifeboat Station will be open later in the month 26th & 27th September, 10 am – 4pm both days – this will be an ideal chance to look around the lifeboat, the tractor and the boathouse itself, whilst enjoying amazing cake, volunteers will be on hand to answer questions.
Saturday 12th of September at 10.30 - 11.30 an illustrated talk by RNLI Flamborough, at Flamborough Library booking is essential.
Monday 14 September an online repeat of the talk 18.00-19.00
