Rookhow

Rookhow Quaker Meeting House, Colton, Ulverston, Cumbria, LA12 8LA

  • 19 Sep 2025
  • In person
  • Pre-booking preferred

Visit a Grade II* listed 300 year old Quaker Meeting House in rural South Lakes. See how we have managed to improve energy efficiency with air source heat pumps and underfloor heating, whilst being sensitive to the building's history.

Our volunteer guides will show you around and share Rookhow's history as well as tell you about our current work with community groups. See original features in the historic Meeting House, with plank and muntin panelling, original slate floors, a 1725 spice cupboard and old wooden furniture. Time to wander in our 12 acres Quakers' Wood, a beautiful example of a temperate rainforest.
