Roots in a Place Exhibition

The Roots in a Place exhibition features artists based in and around Derbyshire, and brings together a diverse range of artwork, photography, film and ephemera related to the experiences of roots and belonging.

Richard Bradley has been researching, attending and documenting the customs and traditions of Derbyshire and the Peak District for a decade, amassing a collection of historical material. He will be exhibiting his modern-day photographs alongside material produced by the anonymous documentarians of yesteryear.

Jim and Joseph Dethick are multiple award-winning filmmakers and artists. They will be showing two short social history and nature documentaries. Jim will also be exhibiting a range of artwork including sculpture, cyanotypes and drawings inspired by local industry, power, derelict buildings, aerial photographs, geology, and old maps.

Michael Borkowsky is an artist and game designer, based in North East Derbyshire who will be exhibiting the board game he has designed based on the rumours surrounding The Seldom Seen Engine House in Eckington.

Sharon Borkowsky is an artist who grew up on the Sheffield-Derbyshire border who has created artwork relating to her sense of belonging to the Moss Valley.
