Celebrate Woodwalton Fen NNR, birthplace of modern wildlife conservation. Step inside and look around the historic Rothschild Bungalow, and explore this beautiful reserve of rare ancient fenland.

Come and explore Woodwalton Fen NNR and investigate the architecture involved in the historic Rothschild Bungalow, raised on stilts to survive the intense fenland floods! Pick up a trail leaflet and get to know the heritage and wildlife of this incredible site. Built in 1911 as a base for research and summer retreats, this captivating building gives a glimpse into the past pursuits of the founder of the Wildlife Trusts and wildlife conservation as we know it. Join us for privileged access to a building not usually open to the public and discover how Charles Rothschild would have used it as a base for his field trips, studying moths and other insects. There will be staff and volunteers to talk to you about the history of the area and the plans for the future of the Great Fen.
