S. John the Baptist Church, Newcastle upon Tyne
St. John the Baptist Church, Grainger Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear, NE1 5JG
The church has participated in HODs for many years and visitors always appreciate the welcome and what we have to offer. We have guided tours as well as a great deal of printed information.
The church has a connection to the 19th century physician John Snow, possibly the first epidemiologist in the UK, and to Ann Fisher Slack, esteemed grammarian of the 18th century.
We also have two interesting war memorials, including one from WWI with the name of a woman.
Visit our belfry or discover how a church organ works.

As we are a city centre church, there is only free on-street parking for blue badge holders. Central Station Metro station is nearby, and there are good bus links. There is full wheelchair access to the church itself, but not to the belfry, which is reached by narrow steps.
The belfry tour may be limited to the morning only.
