This Heritage Open Days weekend, explore Eltham Palace through the eyes of the people who kept it running. Our new Servants’ Trail reveals fascinating stories of cooks, cleaners, secretaries, and gardeners - people often left out of palace histories.
Designed to be family-friendly, the trail guides you through the palace with temporary interpretation and engaging stops, ending in a small exhibition in the original servants’ quarters. There, you'll find rare insights and new research not usually on display, from working conditions and routines to personal stories and roles behind the scenes.

This is a unique opportunity to connect with Eltham Palace from a fresh perspective and discover the hidden human history of this grand site.

Directions:
Please be aware that Eltham Palace and Garden's have two visitor entrances. Our main entrance, which includes the visitor centre and car park, can be found on Court Road, SE9 5NP. Visitors arriving by car are able to the follow brown tourist signs to our visitor centre. We are located a short walk from Mottingham station and Eltham station, as well as a short walk from Eltham highstreet which is served by local buses.
