Explore Shepley Over the Years at St Paul’s Church and Hall. Discover Shepley and the war, village buildings, trades and local people, a self-guided graveyard trail, and the Huddersfield & District Family History Society.

Join us at St Paul’s Church and Hall for a welcoming event exploring Shepley over the years.

Start in the church, where you’ll find displays on Shepley and the war, alongside the people, families and buildings that shaped the village. You might recognise familiar names, streets or houses, or spot something you’ve never noticed before.

From there, take a short self-guided walk through the churchyard (weather permitting), uncovering the stories behind the gravestones and the lives connected to Shepley.

In the hall, explore the history of St Paul’s Hall and its many uses since 1853, alongside displays on local trades and industries. The Huddersfield & District Family History Society will also be there with their newly completed graveyard map and tools to help you search for ancestors buried in Shepley.

The hall community café will be open throughout, serving drinks and light refreshments.
