40 Years ago, in September 1986, the remains of 5 Woolly Mammoths were discovered in a quarry at Condover. Here you will tour the stores where the mammoths are kept in purpose built stores and see the remains of these giant beasts up close, guided by a curator. Find out how they were discovered, hear how local people helped to excavate them and discover how they lived and died in Shropshire at the end of the last Ice Age.
45 minute store tour at Shropshire Museums Collections Centre, Ludlow (Ludlow Library building) 10-11am Saturday 12 September.
