Explore the varied history of Soper Hall since its opening in 1912 as a memorial to William Garland Soper - known as the father of modern Caterham.

Since opening in 1912 the Soper Hall has has many uses - mainly as the offices of The Warlingham & Caterham Urban District Council, but also as a Control Centre during WW2. Explore the parts of the building not usually accessible to the public - including the 'Secret Cold War Bunker', meet 'Mr & Mrs Soper' and enjoy free drinks whilst viewing our '100 years of Soper Hall' timeline, which will include lots of fascinating information and wonderful old photographs of times gone by. East Surrey Museum will help us recreate the 'bunker' Control Centre with some of their many artifacts.

The day will be part of the Caterham Valley Heritage Open Day Trail, which will include East Surrey Museum and St John's Church - all within walking distance of each other, with free 3 hour parking close by.
