Discover the large Gorleston Parish church of St Andrews, a grade II* listed building. It is steeped in history and architectural delights. There are many beautiful stained-glass windows with very vibrant colours. You can see the famous Bacon Brass, a very old Saxon chest and a Seven Sacrament Font. As well as the slide show of the church through the years, it also shows the Gorleston Psalter. There is some wonderful carvings including the Altar Table and Reredo in the Lady Chapel, and The Pulpit and the Lectern. Free refreshments available.
James Lally who was a professional organist for over 40 years in the Danish State Church will be giving an organ recital on Sat 12 Sept at 3pm. The music will include something for everyone. The concert is free but if anyone wishing to make a Donation it will be in aid of repairing the church floor and walls.
