St Bartholomew's Church, Roby is celebrating its 175th birthday
St Bartholomew's Church, Church Road, Roby, Huyton, Merseyside, L36 9TL
St Bart's (grade II listed building) has a rich history which recently has been uncovered by a group of volunteers, the church was built in 1850 originally as a chapel of ease but as the surrounding area increased in population the church was extended. The development of the railway from Liverpool to Manchester was also influential in this growth as more people wanted to escape the poor housing and working conditions in Liverpool of the 1850's.
Come and see our rare stained glass Kempe window, discover more about our bell which was cast 300 years before the church was built in Lincolnshire by Seliok.
We have links to one of the first Chief Constables of Liverpool, the Earle family and Lord Derby, and with the city. Our World War I heritage takes us from Liverpool to France and Gallipoli.
We would love to welcome you.
