The present Victorian parish church was designed by Benjamin Ferrey and built in 1847–48 in a simple Norman style, using ashlar stone with rubble corner buttresses, a short aisleless nave, transepts, chancel, vestry, north porch, bellcote and organ chamber. Its stonework links visually with the older St Boniface Old Church nearby, whose Norman south doorway and medieval fabric help explain the long continuity of worship in Bonchurch. The interior woodwork includes screens and fittings associated with the church’s Anglo-Catholic and Tractarian tradition.
