St Editha's Double Helix Staircase Open Day
St Editha's Church, St. Editha's Close, Tamworth, Staffordshire, B79 7DA
The tower of St. Editha's Church, Tamworth contains a rare double helix staircase, where two staircases wind around each other for over 30m to reach the tower battlements. After climbing the outer staircase to reach the battlements and viewing the town, you descend the inner staircase and visit the bells chamber, followed by the ringing room. Here you can have a go on a model bell.
