St George's is an outstanding and large grade one listed church, built in the neo-gothic style by Paley Austin and Paley (completed 1897). With its school it forms a beautiful listed site at the heart of Davenport conservation area.

On the Heritage Open Day you can:
Visit 10am - 4pm

Visit as part of the Historic Cheshire Churches Preservation Trust Ride and Stride

Enjoy organ music as part of a Matins service at 11am

Follow a children's trail round the church and an outdoor prayer trail (moved indoors if bad weather).

See our wonderful architecture. Look at our exhibition of photos of the front doors of the ordinary men from the parish who went to the First World War and their stories

Have a go at hand bell ringing!

Climb the church's tower to enjoy views over the Peak District. Free but booking on the day. Limited numbers on each tour.One tour in the morning and one in the afternoon (subject to the weather)

Refreshments :tea, coffee and home made cakes.
