Explore the beauty and history of St. John’s Church, a welcoming, inclusive Anglo-Catholic church in central Watford. Pick up a leaflet and enjoy a self-guided tour highlighting the church’s rich heritage and key historic features.

Dedicated to St. John the Apostle and Evangelist, St. John’s is a friendly, inclusive Anglo-Catholic church in the heart of Watford. The church dates back to 1873, with a rich, sacramental community history. Our Rood screen, Stations of the Cross, and 1911 organ built by J.W. Walker and Sons are of particular interest.

Visitors are invited to take a self-guided tour of the church and refer to an informational leaflet available on the day. This guide highlights key moments in our history, notable features of the building, and stories that have shaped our community. Look out for original features which have stood the test of time, including the very seats still used during our services today.
