A rare opportunity to explore the remarkable late Victorian School, built in 1898 by architects Goodey & Cressall.

Building on the legacy of the National Lottery Heritage Fund project 'One Square Mile: Heritage on our Doorstep', St John's Green Primary School is delighted to take part in Heritage Open Days this year.

This project marked a special occasion in the school's history as we celebrated the school's 125th anniversary. We're again opening up our doors, inviting guests to look around our fabulous building which opened on 5 September 1898. If you were a former pupil or teacher at the school, we would love to welcome you back and hope you will share your memories and photographs to help us learn about the school's rich heritage.

A group of paintings by a local artist, the late Charles Debenham, of the Siege of Colchester in 1648 will also be on display.
