St John's Church Heritage Day
50 Norley Road, Sandiway, Northwich, Cheshire, CW8 2JU
St John's is John Douglas's great legacy to Sandiway, he donated the land on which it stands and was a major contributor to building and furbishing costs. The very best materials and craftsmen were used throughout. Douglas was born in Sandiway and restored or built over 500 churches and buildings in the North West and beyond including the famous Eastgate Clock in Chester and the many buildings on the Duke of Westminster's estate in Cheshire. There will be detailed handouts about each item of furniture in St John's as well as the fabric of the building inside and out. This is our fourth Heritage Day and the information and trails prepared for the last three will be available for those who were unable to be with us, plus an abundance of new heritage facts. There will be a fun find the animal trail, around the church, for adults and children with lots of goodies to take home and activities to do. Delicious refreshments will be served and this will all be free. Do come a see our delightful church. We are sure you will be glad you did and a very warm welcome will await you. A John Douglas Trail around the village will be available and experts with a wealth of knowledge for you to talk to. You will find us at 45 Norley Road, Sandiway Northwich. Don't forget to look at our website for lots more information including several videos.
