St. Katherine's is a Norman, Grade 1 listed church, located in the manorial conservation area of Old Teversal Village. We will be opening our doors to heritage events over the weekend of 18th-20th September 2026.

Betjeman once described Teversal Village as a 'rural oasis' in the former 'coal producing area on the Notts - Derby border'. Over the weekend of 19th-21st September, we will be celebrating the rich history of the area including the local mining and farming communities, as well as it's close links with the Carnarvon family and D.H. Lawrence.

The church and neighbouring Manor Room will be open to visitors every day from 10am - 4pm. On display will be photographs, films, information and stories about the history of the area and it's working people. The Manor Room will also be providing refreshments for purchase throughout the weekend. On the Friday evening we will celebrate the village's links D.H. Lawrence, with a talk by Nottingham University's, James Walker. On Saturday and Sunday there will be guided walks around the local area, to explore its rich heritage.

The event is free, but donations towards the upkeep of the church will be gratefully received.
