Oldest round tower church in Norwich, dating from late 11th century. Norwich School painter John Crome married here in 1792. Famous lithographer Robert Ladbrooke buried in church 1842.

Redundant since 1974, St Mary's church is one of 181 round towers in England. It has some late Saxon features and some early memorials. An inscription in Norman-French from 1298 records the gift of a candle by a tanner Thomas de Lingcole.
