The launch of Doorstep Photos Project - Five Years On, by Sophie Chaplin.
In 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdowns, Sophie Chaplin Photography began the Doorstep Photos Project — capturing families, individuals, and businesses on their doorsteps across Eaton Bray, Edlesborough, Northall, and Dagnall. It was a way to connect while apart, to document resilience and unity in an uncertain time. What started as a simple idea quickly grew into a powerful community effort, raising £1,526 for Hospice of St Francis and preserving a unique moment in our shared history.
Now, five years later, she is returning to those same doorsteps to reflect on how life has changed — growing families, evolving businesses, and new beginnings. Cream Teas available!
20th & 21st September, open 1000-1600hrs. Unmanned - Displays in-situ.
Edlesborough Church, Leighton Road, Edlesborough, Dunstable, Bedfordshire, LU6 2EP
The Church lies on the top of a small but steep hill - an outlier of the nearby Chilterns Scarp. Access for pedestrians is via a stepped path. Although there is a step free, grassed path to the Church which begins in the cemetery and can be used by wheelchairs & pushchairs, being careful to avoided rabbit holes, there is no vehicular access via the bridle gate. The path from the cemetery can be difficult as it is steep in places and the rabbits & badgers live there too! The building itself is mostly wheelchair, pushchair & pram friendly.
St Mary's Church Eaton Bray will also be opening their doors for general admission. Why not visit us both on Saturday 13th September, We are lucky enough to have had a virtual tour completed of this building and its surroundings by https://www.plowmancraven.co.uk/ Here are the links to type in your search bar:- plowmancraven.co.uk/edlesborough-church/interior plowmancraven.co.uk/edlesborough-church/exterior
