Come along to St Mary's to listen to a talk on the life of Henry Haversham Godwin-Austen, famous explorer who discovered the "K2" mountain, originally called Mount Godwin-Austen. He broke the Asiatic high altitude summiting record three times, and on his return to Shalford, became one of the country's leading natural historians. He became a Darwinist collector and his collection of freshwater molluscs forms the basis of all modern science in the subject.

Please use the local buses and walk where you can and do look out for details of the lovely heritage bus which is being organised by Guildford Borough Council - the bus will be running every 30 minutes and will pass by St Mary's on the way to Guildford (but not in the other direction).
