Welcome to St Michael's! This year's free Heritage Open Days weekend will reveal new treasures of Mount Dinham's heritage. Discover our peregrines, enjoy music recitals, historical tours and a weddings exhibition. Delicious refreshments available.

St Michael & All Angels is one of the most spectacular monuments of the Anglican Revival in Devon, built in memory of the philanthropist John Dinham. Come to experience beautiful choral music and stunning architecture; soak up the timeless atmosphere and find out more about the extraordinary history of this place, with the tallest church spire west of Salisbury.

The church community and local residents this year together offer a warm welcome, with BBQ and Cream Teas for visitors, on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September, with a mix of music, exhibitions, talks and tours.

Saturday's events include a fascinating talk at 11 am, given by Devon's urban peregrine falcon expert, Nick Dixon. The afternoon is filled with cream teas and a series of vocal and piano recitals, with performances from 2pm with Matthew Jeffrey, Matthew Wright and friends.

Sunday’s events begin with our Sung Mass at 11am. From 2pm, a wonderful recital from organist Matt Clark and demonstration by Dr Nigel Browne is followed at 3pm by Dr Richard Parker's intriguing architectural tour. At 4pm, traditional Parlour songs around the piano are served with afternoon tea.

Heritage displays feature a transcription of the original Sentence of Consecration, and "Vena Amoris" reveals the beauty of traditional marriage ceremonies, with a collection from weddings at St Michael’s. Visitors can browse the book and plants stalls and also explore historic Mount Dinham itself. Parking is available all weekend.
