The city church of Oxford with its thousand-year old Saxon tower.

The church of St Michael at the North Gate dates from the 13th century and adjoins the earlier Saxon tower (c. 1040). Visit the ground floor Tower Room, possibly the oldest room in Oxford still in use. Explore the church with its medieval stained glass, the font at which Shakespeare stood, and the pulpit from where John Wesley preached.
