St Neots Museum is a small, friendly local museum dedicated to telling the story of St Neots and the surrounding area. Housed in the town’s former police station and magistrates’ court, just off the High Street, the museum brings local history to life through fascinating displays and original features, including the early 20th-century prison cells where detainees were once held.
Explore the rich history of St Neots, from prehistoric times through to the modern day. Discover the stories of John Bellingham, the only person to assassinate a British Prime Minister, James Toller, better known as the Eynesbury Giant, and the famous Paine’s Brewery that helped shape the town’s industrial heritage.
Behind the scenes, the museum is run by a dedicated team that organises exhibitions, educational programmes and more whilst caring for a collection of more than 14,000 artefacts, documents and photographs. Their work is supported by a large team of enthusiastic volunteers who help create a welcoming and rewarding experience for the museum’s many visitors.

- We are located in the town centre, just off the high street. We are about 1 mile from St Neots railway station and a few yards from bus stops serving Bedford, Huntingdon and Cambridge. There are a number of pay and display car parks nearby.

Accessibility details
We do not have visit parking but cars can briefly pull up outside for drop-off and pickup. There is an automatic door into the Reception area and a lowered reception desk with a hearing loop. There is also a stairlift for access to the 1st floor. Toilets are accessible and one has baby changing.
