St Nicholas Priory - Restoring a Medieval Priory

Join us for a series of Heritage Open Day tours exploring how St Nicholas Priory was restored between 1912-1916. Due to the finding of new plans by consultant Harold Brakespear we now know the specifics of the extensive restoration that turned what had become five tenements back into the grand guest wing of a medieval priory it once was and this is now told to the public for the first time. Come along and see how much was done (and hidden) during the difficult years of the first world war and turn the Priory into the wonderful showpiece it is today.
