St. Nicolas church is an attractive Grade I building set in a churchyard managed for nature. The medieval architecture and ancient graffiti reflects its importance in the local community.

The HOD event will extend from 10:00 until 16:00 and feature displays of a changing village including, Watmough’s biscuit factory which during its later stages became United Biscuits. This will provide an opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in both the history of the church, the village and a local industry.
It is also planned to be serving teas, coffees and cakes as well as activities that can be enjoyed by all members of the family, including a brass band, tombola, hunt the biscuits, and various other attractions. It is also hoped to be able to provide access to the tower via the stone spiral staircase into the ringing room and bell chamber. However, space is at a premium so, if this takes place, groups will have to be limited in number throughout the event.
