  • Multiple dates available

This medieval church closed in 1978 . In the 21st century it has once again become the centre of the community..

During our Heritage Open Days we want to highlight three notable architectural phases of the development of Kirk Sandall as a community from the important features of our medieval church, to the 20th century village built by the glassmakers Pilkington Brothers on Garden Village principles and designed by Patrick (later Sir Patrick) Abercrombie in conjunction with local developer T.H. Johnson and into the 21st century with the modern housing development built in on the site of the old village.
