St Peter's Highfields Fun Day
2 St. Peters Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE2 1DA
The stunning church of St Peter's was built before most of the houses in Highfields, and tells the story of Highfields from its glory days to a working class area and more recently to an area of proud diversity. Designed by G E Street, and built in memory of local philanthropist, Earl Howe, St Peter's proclaims the greatness of God. The church will be open throughout the day.
Enter through the West door, where there is still shrapnel damage from the bombs on November 1940, today you can see some of the stunning stained glass windows from the Arts and Crafts movement, including our newly restored Baptistery Window and the recently lit painted Chancel ceiling.
St Peter's has a history of welcoming the whole community and so we will be using the open day to provide free indoor fun activities and games for all the family.
