A Church has existed in Hempsted from 826 and the 12th Century Norman font was in the original church. In the well-kept Churchyard is “The Cavaliers Tomb” of Captain John Freeman who was slain at the siege of Gloucester in 1643.
Open days will include a display with information on the church and village war memorial, details of the 1885 restoration work, information on plaques and stained-glass windows in the church, and people from between the 1st and 2nd World War.
