A chance to view a non-conformist meeting house, originally one of many throughout the country, which developed out of the religious upheavals of the 17th century.

The oldest non-conformist meeting house/chapel in N. Staffordshire, still serving a faith community to this day. Built in 1717 in the shadow of the Parish Church (St Giles), the original building dated c. 1650 and was burnt down by a rioting mob. Attended by master potter Josiah Wedgwood and Joseph Priestley: chemist, theologian and discoverer of oxygen.
Charles Darwin is also known to have visited.
