Step aboard the historic Steam Tug Brent for an exclusive, intimate glimpse into her "Working Life" as part of the Heritage Open Day Festival on 12 and 13 September. This is a rare opportunity to explore a 1945-built vessel, one of the few remaining steam tugs of her kind.

To ensure an engaging and safe experience, we are offering two guided tours per day, designed to bring the vessel’s past to life. Your guide is not just experienced but actually lived aboard the vessel, offering unique, first-hand stories and an unparalleled perspective on operating a steam tug in the mid-20th century.

Directions:
Parking to visit the Steam Tug Brent at The Hythe, Maldon (CM9 5HN), is very limited on-site. The best options are nearby pay-and-display car parks, including Promenade Park or options in the High Street. The tug is moored along the footpath by the Lakeside Café at The Hythe.  Recommended Parking Locations: * Promenade Park (CM9 5JQ): A large car park with easy pedestrian access to the waterfront and a short walk to The Hythe. * The Hythe Quay/High Street Area: Limited spaces are available near the quay, but alternative car parks are available in the town centre.  Visitor Information: * Location: The Hythe, Maldon, Essex CM9 5HN. * Access: The vessel can be viewed from the river pathway, with open days for deck and engine room tours held during spring and summer. * Alternative: The boat can also be spotted from the river pathway leading towards Promenade Park.
