Stoke-Sub-Hamdon Priory is one of the most important collections of medieval buildings in England. It is a well preserved example of a secular (non-monastic) college. Much of its medieval layout and structure is still intact.

The priests who lived here served the Chapel of St Nicholas (now destroyed). The grounds, Great Hall and dovecote are open to visitors. No other chantry college in England appears to have any farm buildings remaining from the medieval period.
