The WWI Battlefield Crosses Museum in Cheltenham Cemetery - where this walk starts - will also be open as per usual for you to visit if you wish. This unique museum housing the wooden grave-marker crosses commemorating local soldiers who died on the battlefields of the 1914-18 First World War. Cheltenham Civic Society supervised the conservation of the remaining 23 crosses and the creation of this small museum, which opened in 2024. It is the only museum of its kind and provides an informative and moving experience for visitors.
