An opportunity to visit our small Church which has been part of the Quernmore Valley Community since 1860. We have an eclectic but wonderful mix of stained glass windows and we wish to share our beautiful surroundings & connection with our community.

As part of the Diocese of Blackburn Centenary Mission Weekend we would like to invite you to visit our Church.
Each of our stained glass window panels, has its own tale to tell. Many of them have been commissioned by members of the Church Congregation and so celebrate the links between them and the Church.
The Church was built by William Garnett of Quernmore Park as a great act of philanthropy to the area. Several of the windows commemorate him and the ongoing links with his family. The windows over the altar have an amazing history. They spent 5 months sunk at sea as the ship they were being carried in sank at the mouth of the river Rhone. They were recovered and brought to the Church in 1867.
Some of the windows are more modern and the Church is fortunate to have a striking example of stained glass by John Hayward 1959. He also completed a a statue of Christ Resurrected which is on the wall over the Lady Chapel Altar. There are only a few examples of his work in the North West.
The Church will be open on Saturday 12th September between 11.00am and 4.00pm
On Sunday 13th September the Church will be open between 10.00am and 4.00pm.
There will be a Special Celebratory Eucharist on Sunday at 10.00am as a thanksgiving for St Peter’s and its role in the Community. We will welcome all ages and anyone who has connections to the Church, and valley and community to celebrate with us. We will have a vote for favourite hymns prior to the service.
