Little Elborow Street, Rugby, Warwickshire, CV21 3BZ

  • 20 Sep 2025
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

Get creative with eco-activities, enjoy local music, discover local sustainable crafters, and learn about how we can do out bit for a brighter future.

Join us for Sustainable Saturday, a free, thoughtful day of creativity and climate-conscious community, held alongside our Woven from the Field exhibition. Discover hands-on crafting for all ages, with drop-in workshops using natural and reclaimed materials, and browse our mini makers market, featuring local artists whose work is rooted in sustainability and care. Enjoy live music from talented local performers, make an alpaca pal (yes, real alpacas!) and connect with inspiring community groups in the areas of conservation, nature and the environment.

We’re delighted to welcome Zoë Burt, who will be leading botanical ink drop-in workshops throughout the day. Using seasonal plant colours, botanical extracts and even pigments from kitchen waste, you’ll be invited to play with natural inks, explore collaborative pattern and mark making, draw from nature, and create your own bookmark or postcard to take home. A beautiful way to connect with the plant world and the passing seasons – open to all ages and abilities.

You’ll also have the chance to see Allan Brown demonstrating flax and nettle processing and spinning, sharing traditional skills with a modern environmental lens. To complement this, we’ll be screening The Nettle Dress, a poignant film by Dylan Howitt featuring Allan Brown, telling the beautiful story of one person’s resilience and self-discovery through craft and their deep relationship with the natural world.
