Sharpe's Pottery, South Derbyshire Mining Preservation Group and the Magic Attic are joining forces to create a weekend of music, food, fun and most importantly... Heritage! There's fun for all the family as we celebrate all things Heritage!

Sharpe's Pottery, South Derbyshire Mining Preservation group and the Magic Attic are working together to host a weekend of all things Heritage! This year, we're excited to create an event that the entire family can enjoy as well as history enthusiasts and architecture fans! There will be a variety of activities available, why not come down and:

- Discover the fantastic history of the South Derbyshire Mining industry through artefacts and displays!
- Explore local Swadlincote history with the Magic Attic Archive tours!
- Create your own masterpiece with paint and pot and throwing demonstrations!
- Marvel at our Museum Collections with Object Handling!
- Learn about our incredible Grade II listed building and it's fantastic architectural elements!

Finding Us: At Sharpe’s Pottery Museum we want everyone to be able to enjoy our building, exhibits and events. Our Museum is fully wheelchair-accessible and assistance may be provided if required. By Car: We have dedicated spaces for up to five vehicles. The nearest off site car parks are Grove Street and Rink Drive which are free all day. There are two clearly marked Blue Badge parking spaces available free of charge on-site off West Street, or on the roadside nearby. By Bike: There are bicycle racks on West Street outside the post office, a five-minute walk away. By Train: The nearest train station is Burton on Trent. Travel by taxi for 20 minutes or on the bus to Swadlincote Bus Station. By Bus: There are frequent and regular bus services to and from Swadlincote Bus station, in the town centre, operated by Midland Classic and Arriva. Swadlincote Bus Station is a five-minute walk away.

Accessibility details

We have dedicated spaces for up to five vehicles on site. The nearest off site car parks are Grove Street and Rink Drive which are free all day including electric charging points. There are two clearly marked Blue Badge parking spaces available free of charge on-site off West Street, or on the roadside nearby. The majority of this event will take place on the ground floor of the museum but there are galleries located on the first floor. Note: Whilst our museum is fully accessible our lift is not suitable for large motorised wheelchairs.
