Tales from the Riverbank: Tweed Stories Family Drop-In
Town Hall, Marygate, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, TD15 1BN
The River Tweed has been shaping people’s lives in Berwick for generations. This fun drop-in session is a chance to explore what the river means to you – and to your children, family and friends.
There are river-related objects to handle, picture prompts to inspire you and a giant map to explore. Ask yourself, your family or friends about childhood memories of the Tweed. What did your parents or grandparents tell you about it? Did you visit or live beside the river? Do you swim, paddle or fish in it today? What wildlife do you look out for? You can draw, write about or tell us what makes the River Tweed special to you, and hear and see what it means to others.
Your memories, stories and pictures will become part of the Tweed Stories archive – a growing online collection of colourful community memories from the length of the river, and available for anyone to read at destinationtweed.org/stories.
No booking needed. Drop in for five minutes or stay for an hour. Just turn up, look around, and see if something prompts your story. All ages welcome.
