Talk and tour of All Saints Church Earls Barton

Friends of All Saints Earls Barton is a charity run by volunteers to raise the funding necessary to maintain the fabric of our wonderful historic church building. The church tower was built circa 970 by an Anglo-Saxon thegn as a defensive and ecclesiastical building. Remnants of the Norman nave exist in the glorious south doorway and blind arcading in the chancel. The current nave and chancel were built in the thirteen century. We also have a medieval rood screen controversially (at the time) painted by the famous Northamptonshire artist Henry Bird in 1935.

As part of the Heritage weekend, the church and site will be open for visitors. There will be a talk on the history of this amazing part of the county's heritage given by a member of the Friends team at 11.00. This is free and everyone is welcome. The site and building will be open between 10.00 and 4.00 if you would prefer to explore it for yourself.
