Talk & Glide: Taster Trip on MK Community Boat Electra with A Short History of MK Canals
Fenny Stratford Bollard adjacent to Watling Street Bridge, Watling Street, Fenny Stratford, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK2 2AW
Join the volunteer shore crew for a 30-minute, illustrated history of why and how the Grand Union canal – and its “arms” - came to be built through the area that is now Milton Keynes and its influence on the people living nearby. There are seven generations of history to MK Canals, from their start to their heyday, from their decline to their revival, and now their repurposing to meet the needs of the future. Then on-board MK Community Boat Electra experience modern electric boating on a 30-minute circular cruise on the Grand Union canal.
On Thursday 17th and Saturday 19th September meet at Fenny Stratford to learn of its industrial past and cruise the beautiful Grand Union Canal.
