The 26th Norwich print Fair returns to St Margarets Gallery in the beautifully renovated, Grade 1 listed, Medieval Church of St Margarets in Norwich.

The Norwich Print Fair returns to St Margarets in Norwich where the new artist run St Margarets Gallery sits perfectly within the fabric of the Medieval building. Visitors can enjoy the art on display whilst admiring the dynamic 1967 stained glass depiction of the Ascension by Michael King and the more traditional depiction of Saint Margaret with her dragon by Ian Keen. Sadly all the Medieval glass was lost during bombing raids of WW2 but, this allows for beautiful clear light to fall into the gallery. The font is also no longer present but one can still see the decalogue board with Moses and Aaron above the internal south entrance.

During Heritage Open Days the church will be hosting the 26th Norwich Print Fair with work from around 30 of East Anglia's finest Printmakers. On display visitors will find a wide variety of traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques such as etching, mezzotint, linocut, wood engraving, letterpress, screen print, monoprint and collagraph.

From its inception, the NPF has sort to inspire, inform, and encourage new interest in the art form of printmaking and so holds 'Printmakers in Action Day' on the middle Sunday of each fair. This year it will be held on Sunday 13th. Saturdays 12th and 20th are meet the Artist Days where visitors can chat to the artists and see extra work. Thursdays 10th and 17th are late night opening with Printmaker talks.

Additional information

The Sunday Times recently heralded Norwich as the best place to live in the UK. The judges described our Fine City as 'creative and contemporary' and St Margarets, with its long history and connection to the artists and creatives of Norwich, has certainly contributed to Norwich's rich creative heritage. Now St Margarets Gallery moves forward as an artist run, affordable exhibition space. Congratulations to all those who have worked so hard to ensure St Margarets Gallery continues to thrive and to the Norwich Historic Churches Trust for supporting the Arts in Norwich.
