Discover our exhibition exploring locally made decorative arts for the home and civic buildings such as stained glass, enamels, glassware, paintings and pottery from the Victorian period and beyond.

The area now part of Sandwell was known for heavy industry in the Victorian period and beyond but at the same time beautiful items were being made such as stained glass for buildings across the Midlands and the world, pottery, enamels and paintings. Explore our exhibition showcasing extraordinary things made by ordinary Black Country People. Open Wednesdays and Thursdays 11am-4pm and Saturdays 11am-2pm Free entry

Come along and enjoy this local history talk on Thursday 11 September at 11.30am and discover the life and work of Henry Challis who painted scenes of Oldbury and Smethwick in the 1800s. You can see some of his work in our exhibition showcasing decorative items made in what is now Sandwell such as stained glass, enamels, pottery and paintings. Site open 11am-4pm free entry
