This walk and talk explores Lord Sheffield's iconic lakes, world renowned cricket ground, and the many events he hosted; from dazzling firework displays and theatre performances to ice skating exhibitions and sporting tournaments. Learn how Lord Sheffield welcomed thousands to his estate, treating guests to music, refreshments, and unforgettable spectacles, all at his own expense. Hear stories of his generosity, including legendary school treats for children from London's East End, complete with aquatic shows and floating paper animals. Join us to uncover the legacy of a man whose love of sport, celebration, and community left a lasting mark on Sheffield Park.
