The Fort at the end of the road
Wardens Cottage, St. Anthony, Portscatho, Truro, Cornwall, TR2 5HA
At the very tip of the peninsula, St Anthony Head is a perfect place to have a walk, a place to sit and stare at the blue yonder, or to stop off for a picnic. Hidden underground, in strange looking buildings and behind locked doors are decades of military history.
On selected dates each year we invite you to come along and find out how this quiet corner of Cornwall helped to protect our shores. From the late eighteenth century up to World War Two, this headland has played its part.
Two tours each day from 1100 – 1230 and 1330 – 1500

There is level access to some of the site, but access to the battery is down steps with a hand rail. Some of the paths around the headland are accessible, but the site slopes down to the coast in many places. There are good view points from the car park area itself.
The headland is on the South West Coast Path and it's possible to arrive by passenger ferry from St Mawes to Place and then to walk around. You can also walk from nearby Porth. Please check a route planner to see how long each walk will take so that you arrive in good time.
